Please note: Upon arrival in your country, customs duty may apply to your
order. In Australia, customs duty on imported cigars is charged based on
tobacco weight. As of 1 March 2025, the rate is A$2,158.65 per kilogram of
tobacco, equivalent to about A$2.16 per gram.
For example: a Montecristo No.4 cigar weighs approximately 8.46g. A box of 25 cigars
(≈212g) would incur around A$458 ex. GST (A$2.16 x 212g). Including
10% GST, the total is about A$504.
In cases where customs duty is applied, Australia Post and the Australian Border
Force will send a notification letter to your delivery address, including a link for
online payment.
We use this shipping method to keep our prices as competitive as possible. Note that all locally sold cigars have already undergone this taxation at some point.
You’re allowed to import up to 1.5 kg of cigars for personal use—which is always
within our shipping limits.
