Please note: Upon arrival in Australia, customs duty may apply to your order. Duty on imported cigars is charged based on tobacco weight. As of 3 March 2026, the rate is A$2,445.26 per kilogram of tobacco content, or approximately A$2.45 per gram.
For example: a Montecristo No.4 weighs approximately 8.46g. A box of 25 cigars (≈212g) would incur around A$519 ex. GST in duty (A$2.45 × 212g). Including 10% GST, the total comes to approximately A$571.
Where customs duty is applied, Australia Post and the Australian Border Force will send a notification letter to your delivery address with a link to pay online.
We ship this way to keep our prices as competitive as possible. It's worth noting that all cigars sold locally in Australia have already had this duty applied at some point. You're permitted to import up to 1.5kg of cigars for personal use — well within our standard shipping limits.
